The Fax Machine and Lamaze
Hmmm…Sounds crazy and it was!

You never know what might happen when you get a group of girlfriends together and one of them wants to send a fax, has not used the particular fax machine in question and gets help from someone who has only used it a couple of times.

Two pages and a cover sheet, how hard can it be? Not hard at all if all the papers are completely wrinkle free. It happened like this….papers are positioned in the fax machine, face down, number is dialed, start button is pushed….ring….ring…Oh! What’s this, an error message? Line communication error. OK, let’s try again, re-position pages, dial number…ring…ring…New message, Paper jam! Third try; another paper jam! What??? Do I need to iron these papers??

Quizzical looks, giggles, nervousness. C’mon now, in desperation I’m talking to the machine, I turn the papers upside down and slowly the pages start to move. I’m encouraging them…Push…Push….First page is sent, Push…Push…We’re all laughing, anxiously waiting for the second page to go through and it did. Finally, all eyes are on the final page. From the background I hear…its crowning! More laughter, more Push…Push…You can feel the apprehension in the room. Hooray! Belly laughing erupts, fax complete.

Yeah, we get a little nutty, but we cherish our times together. Some days we have wonderful serious discussion, other times we laugh and cry together. Whatever we do, it truly is a bond that can never be broken. Who said Mondays are boring? They don’t know me and my friends. :-)
