Encouragement for Today

Imperfections
Article by Janice Garrison

How often do we find ourselves struggling with our imperfections, and do we let them hinder us from pressing forward in our daily walk?

I was thinking of Adam and Eve. Before they sinned their life was perfection, literally. I had an image of a very large and beautiful mirror, which would represent life before sin. Then I imagined that same beautiful mirror shattered into thousands of broken shards.

The shards represent us today. We were born sinless and slowly became sinful.
In the same way that the broken pieces of the mirror could never be put back exactly the way it was before it was shattered, back to its original perfection, we will never be perfect in this fleshly body.

If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it." Gen 4:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-10

This is great, brings many things to mind - such as don't stop meeting together and one person sharpens another....God has his reasons for everything and it's to help us grow closer to him and not fall away to sin. (my random thoughts) I am happy to now get your blog :)
